Governor Ragnheiður Hansdóttir was the presiding officer of the conference. Present at the opening was Vigdís Finnbogadóttir former President of Iceland and Honorary Member of Zonta International. Lynn McKenzie, ZI President Elect, represented Zonta International Board.
