Governor Guðrún Halla Gunnarsdóttir, ZC Reykjavik Iceland

Guðrún Halla Gunnarsdóttir was born in 1952 and has been member of Zonta Club of Reykjavík for 32 years.  She has been president of her club two times, an Area Director and has served for all positions of the club board as well as SOM committees. In September 2021 she was appointed lieutenant Governor and she was then asked to step up as Governor in February 2022, an opportunity she is honored by.

After graduating from University of Iceland with BS – degree in Geography, Geology and History she moved to Paris to continue to a Master (DEA) degree at Sorbonne University in Planning Geography. She worked as a project manager in regional and city planning at the State National Physical Planning Agency for more than 30 years. She is now retired. She has three children and seven grandchildren.

 

 

 

 

Lt. Governor Ruta Jasione, ZC Alytus Lithuania

Rūta Jasionienė was born in 1969. She graduated from Vilnius University in 1992. While still a student, Rūta became a compiler and editor of the book Juozas Keliuotis "The Tragicism of Art&quot, that was published by the Lithuanian Writers’ Union Publishing House. Now she is the editor of 22 books, both alone and with colleagues.
For the last 30 years Rūta has been working in the editorial office of the newspaper Alytaus naujienos (Alytus News). Currently she is the editor of the newspaper. For 20 years, Rūta has also been working as an educator – she is a teacher of young journalists at the Alytus Youth Centre.
As a journalist and teacher, she has had internships in Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Italy, Norway, Greece, China etc. Rūta became a member of Alytus Zonta Club in 2009. She has got to know Zonta through various positions: member of the Alytus Zonta Club Board, Secretary, Vice President 2017–2018, President 2018–2019. Secretary of the D13 Board 2014–2016, Chair of the Nominations Committee 2016–2018, member of the United Nations Committee 2017–2018, member of the United Nations Committee, member of the Public Relations Committee 2018–2020, Member of the United Nations and Council of Europe Committee 2020–2022. Area 2 Secretary 2021.
Rūta attended 6 Zonta Conventions (San Antonio 2010, Turin 2012, Orlando 2014, Nice 2016, Yokohama 2018, Hamburg 2021) and 5 D13 Conferences: Akureyri 2011, Sanes 2013, Billund 2015, Reykjavik 2017, Copenhagen 2019.
Having visited more than 50 countries, through her travels big and small, Rūta is learning tolerance and openness to the world. And Zonta is one of her wise teachers.

 

AD 01 Helle Larsen, ZC Aalborg Denmark

Helle Larsen was born in 1964 in Denmark on the Westcoast of Jylland. She has a master in Law and works as a lawyer in her own business. She is professionally specialized in family law and inheritance law, estate processing, real estate and legal proceedings. She has the right to appear before  the High Court and the Supreme Court.

Helle became a member of Zonta in 2006 and she has served as club president a couple of times, and at various committees, as vice-ad in the biennium 2020-2022 and in several other positions. Currently she is a member of the Zonta Club Aalborg and serving as AD in area 01, District 13 in the biennium 2022-2024.

 

 

 

AD 02 Dainora Svitojiene, ZC Marijampole Lithuania

Dainora Svitojienė was born in Marijampole in 1968. She completed her bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics at Aleksandras Stulginskis University in 1992 and her master’s degree in management and business administration with a specialization in corporate governance at Kaunas University of Technology in 2005.
Throughout her career, Dainora has held several positions in the banking industry, including specialist and sub-branch manager at Lithuanian Savings Bank (later known as Swedbank) in 2002, deputy branch director and head of the customer service department at Snoras Bank until 2006, and director of the shopping centre “RimiHypermarket” at Rimi Lietuva until 2008. Since 2008, she has served as the Chief Internal Auditor of the Centralized Internal Audit Service of the Marijampole Municipality Administration, conducting independent, objective investigative, evaluative, and advisory activities for public legal entities.
Dainora is married and has one daughter and one son. She is a devoted family person who enjoys spending time with her loved ones, as well as traveling, watching movies, reading books, playing sports, and gardening.
She has been an active member of the Marijampole Zonta Club since 2005, serving as the treasurer from 2008-2016 and the president from 2018-2020. She is also a member of the Association of State and Municipal Internal Auditors and has been an auditor and a member of the Council of the Association since 2020.

 

AD 03 Sesselja Sigurðardóttir, ZC Akureyri Iceland

Sesselja was born in 1962. She is a preschool teacher, who graduated in 1986 from Fósturskóli Íslands. Graduated with a bachelor of education from the University of Akureyri in 1999, a diploma in leading schools in 2003, master’s degree in 2014. She has been working as a preschool counselor in Akureyri since 1991 and has additionally taught courses at the University of Akureyri.

Sesselja has been a member of Zontaklubb Þórunn hyrna Akureyri since 2015. Served as president and vice president of her club from 2018 – 2020. Sesselja is married, has a daugher and a son and 5 grandchildren. She loves knitting, collecting different types of stones, and riding her quad bike.

 

 

 

 

 

 

AD 04 Jane Bordal, ZC Oslo 1 Norway

Jane Bordal was born in 1959. She holds a Master of Management in Human Resources from Norwegian Business School in Norway.  She is also a chemical engineer.  She has an extensive working experience in senior management positions from the shipping industry for about 20 years and for the past 15 years holding top management positions in the Norwegian Public Roads Administration in Norway.  Jane also has an international experience being an expatriate for 5 years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  For more information, please be welcome to look me up at LinkedIn.
Jane has been a member of Zonta Norway since 2008 and has served as a president for the club from 2014-2016, as District 13 Lt. Governor 2018-2020 and as District 13 Governor 2020-2022.

 

 

 

 

 

Treasurer Ellen Skartvedt, ZC Egersund og omegn

Ellen Skartvedt was born in 1967. She works as a Finance Manager in the private sector that serves the Oil and Gas production in the North Sea. Ellen became a member of the Zonta Club of Sandnes in 2010. She was elected to the club board as the Treasurer the same year and held that position until 2018 when she transferred to the Zonta Club of Egersund.

For the years 2018-2020 she was also appointed as the Secretary for the Area 04 Board. She was elected the Treasurer Alternative for District 13 for the biennium 2018-2020 but she took the responsibility as Treasurer already from the start of the biennium, and she has been reelected as the District 13 Treasurer since.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Secretary Sigridur Björnsdóttir, ZC Sunnur Hafnarfjordur Iceland

Sigridur Bjornsdottir was born in 1967. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business management from University of Iceland. She is working as a Key Account Manager at Icelandair. She has been working for Icelandair for the last 35 years in various positions including  5 years at the office in Oslo Norway.
Sigridur has been a member of Zonta Sunnur Iceland since 2011 taken the role as a member of different committees in her club and has served as vice president and president for the club from 2014 – 2016. Today she is also a Foundaction Ambassdor for Area 3.

Sigridur is married and has one daughter, one son, one granddaughter and one labrador that she loves to take for a walk. When she is not at work she likes to travel and her new hobby golf takes a lot of her time, trying different golf courses.
