Zonta District 13 – Who are we?
A Zonta district comprises a number of Zonta clubs within a geographical territory or territories, as determined by the Zonta International Board. A district may also have E-clubs.
Zonta District-13 comprises the Zonta clubs in Denmark (area 01), Lithuania (area 02) Iceland (area 03), and Norway (area 04)
The purposes of the district are:
- To function as an administrative division of ZI in the attainment of the Objects of ZI as stated in ZI Bylaws
- To promote the programs of ZI within the district
- To inspire and assist clubs to implement the goals and programs of ZI
- To serve as a link between the clubs in the district, Zonta International Board and Zonta International Committees.
Zonta International has clubs in 67 countries. Zonta International has 32 districts.
The highest authority of Zonta International is Convention every equal year. Between conventions, Zonta International board governs Zonta International.The highest authority of the District is The District Meeting held every odd year. District 13 Board governs the district between the district meetings.
The highest authority of the areas is the Annual Meeting. Each area has an Area Board

Zonta International Foundation
Zonta International Foundation (ZIF) is the official charitable foundation of Zonta International; it advances and sustains Zonta’s global service and advocacy programs.
In 1984, delegates to the Zonta International Convention in Sydney, Australia voted to establish the Zonta International Foundation. The foundation was incorporated in 1985, as a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization under the United States Internal Revenue Code. The Zonta International Foundation is an independent organization governed by the Zonta International Board of Directors. Zonta International is the Corporate Member of the Foundation.
ZIF is a not-for-profit charitable organization supported solely by contributions from Zonta clubs, Zontians and friends of Zonta International around the globe who share a commitment to advancing the status of women worldwide. Membership dues collected by Zonta International support the operating expenses of Zonta International and the Zonta International Foundation. Contributions to the Zonta International Foundation go entirely to program support and development.
Founded in 1919, Zonta International is a leading global organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. The purpose of the Zonta International Foundation (ZIF) is to support the approved charitable and educational programs of Zonta International. ZIF raises the money that makes it possible for Zonta International to fund programs that are the catalyst for greater understanding and service to women throughout the world.
